Track India Post

Why does India Post say no record found for my tracking number?

Needs attentionShown as: No information available / Consignment details not found

This is a statement about the database, not about your article. The number is either not in the system yet, not a trackable number, or not quite the number that was issued. An empty result is not evidence that anything has gone wrong with the item.

What happened

The tracking system returned nothing at all for the number you entered.

What happens next

If the article was booked in the last day or so, the first scan usually reaches the central system shortly and the record then appears. If the number was mistyped, nothing will ever appear for it.

Do you need to do anything?

Check the number against the receipt one character at a time — 0 against O and 1 against I are the usual culprits. Confirm it is a trackable service, since ordinary and unregistered book post have no record at all. If it was booked more than two working days ago and still returns nothing, ask the booking post office to confirm the number was entered into their system.

If the record then sits unchanged for longer than the distance explains, readhow to find and read your tracking number. For anything only India Post can act on — a redirect, a complaint, a claim — call1800 266 6868 or use itscomplaint portal.

This describes how India Post normally operates. It is not a delivery guarantee or an estimated delivery date.
